About Thrush & Son

It all started when Wilbur Allen Thrush founded what would become Thrush & Son in Phillipsburg, Ohio. With pride strapped to his tool belt and a belief that every job should be done with perfection and honesty, Wilbur built his reputation on one promise — “Every customer will be satisfied.” That mission became the foundation of Thrush & Son and continues to define our work today.

Back in those early days, Wilbur installed spouting on homes throughout the week and, on weekends, worked alongside his brothers and friends. His reputation for craftsmanship quickly spread across the Miami Valley. By 1962, he hired his first employee, and in 1964 his son, Wilbur Allen Thrush Jr., was born. From the time Allen was three years old, he followed his father everywhere — learning not only how to build, but how to build right.

In 1968, the family moved to Brookville, and by 1969, the business officially became Thrush & Son Home Improvements. What began as a single truck has grown into a nationally recognized roofing and exterior company, proudly serving homeowners across Dayton, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky.

Born in Greenville, Ohio. Allen grew up in and around the construction industry first beginning when he was three years old. In 1982 Allen graduated from Brookville High School and married his wife, Michelle in 1985. In 1989 Allen purchased the company from his father. From the time of the initial purchase Allen has seen the elevation of the home improvement industry and under his guidance has grown Thrush & Son from a single truck, to a nationally recognized home improvement company with five locations.

Born in Dayton, Ohio to an automotive family. Her father, Ken, was a highly successful dealership owner. Michelle graduated from Brookville High School in 1984 and has been married to Allen since 1985. Michelle began working in the front office in 1991 and has since continued to help oversee the office staff and act as a motherly figure for the office staff.

Born in November of 1985, Corey is the only child of Michelle and Allen. Corey graduated from Brookville High School in 2004. Afterwards Corey briefly attended Vincennes University before transferring to Gardner-Webb University and lettering for the Runnin’ Bulldogs baseball team. Corey graduated in 2008 with a degree in management from the Godbold School of Business and had a brief run of playing professional baseball. Corey formerly hosted the Thrush & Son WING Racing Show on 1410 ESPN Radio in Dayton.
